A hand-restored limestone house, kept for gathering
Every wall is quarried limestone. The floors are stone slab and wide pine. The fittings are unlacquered brass that will darken with use, as they are meant to. It has taken years, and it was never done quickly on purpose.

The house
A house that seats everyone at one table
Long dining, deep hearths, a piano in the front room, and bedrooms under the eaves. Built for the kind of week where three generations arrive on a Thursday and nobody wants to leave on Sunday.
It holds heat the way thick stone does — which, in this valley, is not something every old house can claim.

What the house gives you
Sleeping
Rooms across two floors, with dormered bedrooms tucked under the eaves.
The kitchen
A proper range, stone underfoot, and a larder. Breakfast for twelve is what the room was arranged for.
Gathering
A front sitting room with the piano, a dining room that seats a full table, and a hearth in each principal room.
The valley
Snow College and Ephraim ten minutes south. Skyline Drive and the Arapeen trails directly east.
Some houses are stayed in. This one is remembered.
